HeartWork
The things I do to encourage others, and myself to be #HeartStrong
American Heart Association
Since surviving a heart attack in 2015, I’ve been dedicated to advancing the mission of the American Heart Association. I serve as a member of the Greater Cleveland American Heart Association Board and on the National Communications and Marketing Coordination Committee—helping to shape impactful heart health messaging across all 50 states and territories.
My journey has allowed me to share my personal story with thousands, lead and support fundraising events, and champion lifesaving research and prevention efforts. My driving goal: to help more people become—and stay—#HeartStrong.

Slow Roll Cleveland
Slow Roll Cleveland is an inclusive, community-centered social bike ride that takes place every Monday night, in the Summer, through different neighborhoods of Cleveland. Each ride is approximately 10 miles long and moves at a relaxed, comfortable pace of about eight miles per hour, making it accessible for cyclists of all ages and skill levels. The event helps bridge communities by encouraging riders to explore various parts of the city they might not usually visit, fostering connections between people and neighborhoods. It has grown significantly from its early days to now, attracting hundreds of riders weekly, sometimes even up to 800 for larger rides.
Organized as a nonprofit, Slow Roll Cleveland upholds a strong community spirit, with volunteers called the "SQUAD" helping with route safety, minor repairs, and managing the ride. The rides often have special themes and community events, such as the Halloween-themed ride, and promote a sense of joy and neighborhood pride. Riders simply show up with their bikes and join in; bike rentals and bike-share options are also available for those without bikes.
Slow Roll Cleveland has become both a social activity and a form of urban tourism within the city, helping riders connect across diverse neighborhoods like Ohio City, Tremont, Asiatown, and more, while building lasting friendships and community engagement through cycling.
Happy Monday
Bike Your Neighborhood (BYN)
isn’t just a bike ride—it’s a community-powered movement. Founded in 2023, BYN brings people together through wellness, movement, and connection. Each month from June to September, we host free bike rides in different neighborhoods—Buckeye-Shaker, Larchmere, Ludlow, Mt. Pleasant, Woodland Hills, Kinsman, and Union-Miles. These fun, accessible rides welcome all ages and skill levels and we offer free bike rentals thanks to our generous sponsors.
We believe every neighborhood deserves access to healthy, joyful, and inclusive recreation—and we're building that future one ride at a time.
